Mothering Sunday

Well I hope you all had a lovely mothers day, I had a very stressful one as I was cooking dinner and making pavlova (which isn't as easy as it looks).
The reason it was so stressful was because I rose early, half past seven in the morning to be precise, and went straight into the kitchen to make my pavlova and when I had made that I began work on my second pavlova... because the first looked like this...
As you can see it's rather over cooked, my second attempt was much better though.
It doesn't look fantastic but it tasted rather good.
As I said, it was a stressful day, I think I must have spent a solid 7 hours in that darn kitchen!

Here's a quick shot of the flowers me and my sisters got my lovely mother

After the chaos of dinner we got dressed to go watch Bethan perform in 'A Night Of Musicals (a Hopper production).
I couldn't decide what look I wanted to go for so I just threw some stuff together and I ended up looking like so strange kind of Doctor Who.
The following photos where not taken by me but taken by Mr Kevin Ho of Kevin Ho photography.
Enjoy
They sang songs from Cabaret, Hair, The Book of Mormon and Rent (plus many more I can't remember) and put on a great show that I'm jolly well over the moon they will be performing it again very soon!
It was such a brilliantly performed and produced/directed show and I would just like the congratulated everyone involved (especially David John Hopper as it was his first production).
My Family (minus 2)
and here's a few vain shots of me looking dramatically down, or rather up, my staircase.

The Trocky Horror Picture Show

Wednesday Night saw My, Mother Brown, Aunty Teresa and Jessie Grace trawling down to Trocaderos to watch my sister Bethan perform as Columbia in The Trocky Horror Picture Show!
Needless to say as Wednesday was the 31st of October, and the 31st of October was Halloween there were a lot of people dressed up. One of them was David John Hopper.

The Time Warp!
I swear I have some pictures that don't contain Bethan :/

See!

The unvailing of Rocky

Hot Patootie!

Columbia and Eddie.

Oppa Gangnam Style!

It was great when it all began...

Costume Time!

Saturday night saw me and my closest friends dressing up ghoulish style for a Halloween party!

I wanted my costume to resemble that of Fenella Fielding's look in Carry On Screaming but I'm not sure how well I succeeded, what do you think?

Either way I was really happy with how it turned out!
Meanwhile While I was getting dressed for a party Bethan got dressed for work... In my electric blue wig!
I think she looked amazing, like she was in a cosmic production of Chicago.

Then it was onto the party!
Needless to say, as I was attending the party there was a lot of alcohol consumed, the results...

Sarah looking like a 1980s goth

Trying to convince Jessie Grace to dye her hair this shade but I don't think she's going for it.

Scary huh?

And of course no Saturday night would be complete without a trip into South Shields!

Till next time folks,
Laura Lou x

'Allo 'Allo

Okay so I have finally gotten round to this after saying for weeks that I was going to do it, I can't even use the excuse that I've been run off my feet with work. I was just being lazy.
Okay so a few weeks ago I went to see the stage production of 'Allo 'Allo.

When Bethan got the part in the show we went and bought a load of the DVDs and watched them continuously so I'm not a massive fan and an 'Allo 'Allo know it all :)
I think I was probably one of the only young people in the audience who actually understood what was going on so that was a bonus.

The story revolved around the painting of the fallen Madonna with the big boobies by Von Klomp but of course that wasn't the only storyline, there was the ever inflating ego of the Italian war hero Captain Alberto Bertorelli, the many affairs the cafe owner Rene has with this staff, the 'budding' romance between Herr Flick and Helga and plenty of scheming form the French resistance.
All in all is was one big laugh (in a good way) I, along with the rest of the audience, enjoyed it very much indeed.
(http://www.jarrowandhebburngazette.com/lifestyle/entertainment/theatre/review-allo-allo-the-customs-house-south-shields-1-4966140) the short but sweet review.

And now for some pictures!

The whole cast.

Characters from left to right. Gruber, Helga, Evette and Officer Crabtree

All the Germans (and an Italian)

Herr Flick of the Gestapo and Helga

Bethan as Helga :) so proud!

A really awful picture of me and Bethan taken at the interval.

Well I hope you enjoyed that as much as I did,
Till next time folks,
Laura Lou x

'Sexy Bumblebee Eyes'

I sometimes go through fases where I wear outrageously bright eyeshadow, last year for instace where I think I wore down a whole colour palette in a few months. Well I think I may be once again entering that fase because the other day I donned my 'Sexy bumblebee eyes' as someone once called them.

To be honest though it's hardly a bumblebee look. All it is is my noral eyeliner with yellow eyeshadow but it looks effective and cute when teamed with red lips.
I used to wear this look an awful lot last year when I went through my beehive days in which you could see my sporting the classic 60s beehive almost everyday! Ruined my hair I tell you.
And yes, that it Charlotte's hat you see me wearing. I think I have worn it almost everyday this week, There's no way she's getting it back haha.
On Thursday (which reminds me, I NEED to post about 'Allo Allo'!) I had a meeting with some potential business partners about a theatre project me and Bethan are hoping together, I went for a simplified 1920s makeup look, notice the lips. Once again wearing the hat.
A very (I wanted to say slightly but it would have been an understatement) photo of my. I digging the classic 1920s lips at the moment, it looks so cute.

Well, I'll update you soon on 'Allo Allo' if I remember.
Till next time,
Laura Lou x
