Hardwick Hall

On Saturday the skies blessed the north of England with another sunny, yet quite windy, day so I decided it was time for a picnic at Hardwick Hall Country Park.
I donned my flimsiest dress (which considering the wind was not a good idea) and off we went.
There really is nothing I like more than after a hard week at work dolling myself out for a day out surrounded my beautiful old buildings and nature in all it's glory and Hardwick Hall really does have all of that.
You'll never know how tempted I was to climb up that turret and play the damsel in distress.
unfortunately there was no door and no stairs, the only way up would be to climb and in my dress that was a no no.

My outfit isn't vintage, I wouldn't want to scruffy up and true vintage by lying on the grass (as I am doing above) It's made up of a a dress I bought round about this time last year actually from Dorothy Perkins, a little cardigan from H&M (what would I do without that shop?) and of course so converse lite. You can still buy this dress on eBay for a fraction of the price I paid.
Judging from this photo you'd never guess that on Thursday I had the most horrific hair malfunction.
What happened was I had decided to dye my hair as my roots were coming through rather badly. I want to move away from bleaching though so I went from a slightly darker blonde however my hair did not go blonde at all. Correction, my roots went blonde but my hair went grey!
I never pictured my self as the kind of girl to cry over hair but many tears were shed that night.
However there was a rather strange but brilliant way of the grey.
I crushed up vitamin C tablets and mixed it with water until it became a paste. I then applied to it to my hair (not the roots though as I wanted that colour to stay) and within 15 minuets of applying it I was peroxide blonde again.
Handy little tip for you there ;)

Anyway back to Hardwick Hall...

The only flowers to be seen for miles were daffodils, there was hundreds of them.

Yes, daffodils and ducks were the main features of the day.

Till next time folks...

Do you even lift?

Cragside

So the heavens finally gave us some fine weather so on Saturday I donned my newest vintage skirt and headed to Cragside (finally!).
After Pablo and I somehow managed to break into Cragside for a little bit we eventually bought our tickets and (legally) entered the property.
If I'm being completely honest I wasn't too over awed by the house it's self, there were lots of owls :/ but anyway the estate it's self is beautiful!

I have to say (as strange as it sounds) the trees were one of the things I was most fascinated by, they were so tall!
Pablo kindly acted as my photographer for the day

See what I mean about the trees?
So I'll tell you a little about my outfit...
Top- George at ASDA £6
Skirt- vintage eBay £2.99
Cardigan- H&M £9.99
I wore on my feet (which you can't see) converse lite.
although I wasn't bowled over my the inside the outside of the house is very impressive.
Little fact of the day- Cragside was the first house in the world to be lit using hydroelectric power ;)
Some of the flowers from the 'formal gardens'

Aren't we a cute couple aww
Then on Sunday I attended my first ever football match.
Newcastle obviously ;)

Till next time folks,

The Weekend

So as it turns out I didn't go to Cragside, that trip has been postponed till next Saturday due to the weather but I have a little catch up with a friend... Jessie Grace.
We went for a curry on the famous Ocean Road at the Royal Tandoori, it was absolutely delicious!
And of course there was drink involved...

On Saturday Myself and Pablo went for a Mexican, I thought it appropriate to dress in a 70s all in one suit.
Sadly it's not vintage, it's only about a year old and I found it in my sisters wardrobe and rescued it before it was sold on eBay but It does look rather groovy I think from the front...
and from the back.
The belt you see did not come with it, I had to take it off a Lindy Bop dress. It was almost an exact match colour wise.
I teamed it with a small green jacket to keep out the cold. It didn't work.

Till next time folks,

New Vintage

It's here!
It's Finally arrived!
So about a week and a half ago I won a cute little dress on eBay and after much impatient waiting yesterday it was delivered to my door.
I was so excited that I snatched it from the postman's hands and ran up stairs to try it on, of course I took a few snaps to show you all.
It's from the 1980s which does sort of go against my likes but it's adorable.
It has shoulder pads!
Sarah Lou would aprove.
I plan on wearing it on Saturday when Pablo takes me to Cragside for the day... even though it is forecast for rain and snow, I'm sure my beaver will keep me warm.
I think I may be the only person in the word that does like this dress though, the only 'nice' comment my family could offer when I came down to parade it was 'it's like something off Little House on the Prairie'.
...thanks.

Before I go here's a little snap of the mug Sarah Lou got me for my birthday.

Till next time folks,
