A short while back me, Sarah Lou and Jessie Grace took a little trip to Glasgow. We did many things (some that we agreed never to talk about again) but what I'd like to share with you is our trip to the botanical gardens. I love flowers and taking photos of flowers so this was the perfect place for me. As well as the flowers being beautiful the structure itself was just amazing and they had some stunning marble sculptures.
So let me take you on a personal tour of the Glasgow Botanical Gardens!
Me and Sarah Lou about to enter the 'killer plants' |
A killer plant...? |
After The 'Killer Platns' room was the main event... I don't know what else to call it except the middle of the building and that doesn't sound at all exciting.
Me and Jess thought it would be a good idea to pose like this here statue. Unfortunately we failed and just ended up looking a bit silly.
There were a lot of these statues but this is the only one we impersonated... thankfully.
In a rather vain moment me and Sarah decided to take shelter (from what I don't know) and take a few photos of ourselves. I think it turned out pretty well don't you?
I love this flower, it reminds me of a bird in flight and I also love how it looks against the rain covered glass.
Here are two other marble sculptures, I particularly like the one of the man, not that the woman isn't beautiful as well but the man has a little something to him. He looks like he's had a hard day at work and just wants a drink... or something like that. I'm sure the real reason behind his pose is a lot deeper and more profound that that.
Me and Sarah once again being quite vain except this this Jess was taking the photo.
I thought this particular branch was fantastic. It was longer than my arm and wider than my thigh (does that sound rude?) anyway it was beautiful and the colour of the petals was just stunning.
To the left we have Jess just being Jess and to the right a flower... no idea what it's name is though.
This is the ceiling of the Botanical Gardens. It was so beautiful that I had to snap it though I'm afraid this photo doesn't show it off all too well.
Next we entered the Orchid house. It was full of all different kinds of exotic and beautiful orchids, so here are just a few of them.
I Love this orchid, it is simply stunning.
It's like a strange morphed bluebell except it's not blue... and it's not a bluebell but you know what I mean. I wish I knew it's name so I could find out some more about it.
Some other lovely orchids for you to feast your eyes on. Who would have thought you could find so many exotic flowers in Scotland?
This is such a posed photo isn't it? But it looks very pretty and I know you can't see them but up close the flowers were even prettier!
'Impossible!' I hear you say but no, it's true.
Well I hope you all enjoyed the 'tour' of the Glasgow Botanical Gardens, I know I did.
Until next time,
Laura Lou x
